Mr. Chris Parker, 33, and his friend Steven Jones, 35, are long time homeless residents of Manchester UK.  On the night of the recent bombing they were panhandling at the arena when the bomb went off.   Rather than run to safety, they ran to the victims rendering first aid and comfort.  Parker comforted a little girl who had lost her legs.  Jones held a dying woman in his arms until she passed.  Both removed shrapnel from children and are widely recognized as heroes of the day.

If you live in an area where coyotes regularly roam, you can increase cat safety by doing the following:

1. Keep food and water bowls inside.
2. Supervise your cat while in the yard, especially at dawn and dusk; never give your cat free access to the outside

A 4 mile, 14 inch diameter underground beer pipeline is being laid for the Wacken Open Air (WOA) hard rock festival, which kicks off in northern Germany in August.  The beer flow rate should reach six glasses every six seconds, an improvement over previous years and project eliminates hundreds of beer delivery truck runs --- 75,000 fans are expected.  JP has designed one for Baldwin Hill.

300,000 stolen babies

The Spanish Catholic Church and Ministry of Health have agreed to open up their archives to parents who believe their children may have been stolen at birth,  following legal proceedings at the European Courts.  Thousands of children, perhaps 300, 000,  are thought to have been taken since the 1930s by the government and The Church.  Funnelled to criminal gangs, they were sold into adoption.  The practice continued into the1990's.  Gets harder to be a Catholic everyday.

Ireland is preparing to launch its first satellite in space, with the help of researchers and students from Queen's University Belfast.  The project is being run jointly with University College Dublin, in partnership with five Irish companies.  The EirSat-1 will be launched from the International Space Station and will orbit space for a year, gathering data.

The 38-year-old police officer has been named as one of four new referees in Germany's top flight for 2017-18.  Steinhaus - the partner of English ex-Premier League and World Cup referee Howard Webb - has refereed second-tier games for six years.

It is beautiful but  toxic and can be lethal to animals, although it would seem that deer are unharmed by it. People have apparently suffered ill-effects in the past after eating pheasants which had fed on mountain laurel. There were fatal cases of poisoning after people had eaten wild honey.

New born rabbits

Me dog was scratching in weeds at the base of a tree. There he found a clutch of new born rabbits huddled in a shallow hole. The mother stays far off only arriving to feed the gaggle once after dark.

Me dog also sniffed out a black snake not far off...so far the babies are safe.

The Vicar of Dibley, the story of a mid-life woman who enters the Anglican priesthood to be assigned a small parish of eccentrics in a farming community where no one else will serve, is one of the most hilarious TV works ever done.  Starring Dawn French and a collection of very funny characters, it ran on BBC from 1994 to 2007.  Three subsequent specials were done with the original crew until 2013, when the actor for perverted farmer Owen died, to raise money for comic relief.  French has decided to answer the prayers of a very devoted audience by reviving the series.  Now in production, the priest has been promoted to bishop and the program centers on her new duties.  Regrettably, advancing age prevents most of the old cast from participating  in the new series.

Gold litter from the Dark Age

Just below the surface in a farmer's field in Staffordshire, England a hoard of 3500+ pieces of silver, and gold  (valued at 5.5 million Euros) was discovered accidentally by a man with a metal detector. The treasure is a pile of broken, elite, military hardware that was hidden 13 centuries ago in a politically and militarily turbulent region.  The items found were from helmets, swords and scabbards.

Fr Mark Gallipeau

The man was born and raised in New England. Ordained into the priest hood in 2006 after graduating from Franciscan University.  He spent 30 years as a ski instructor in N E and Nevada. The man was avid kayaker, and mountain biker.. Fr died at the age of 61 years and is survived by one daughter.

UK Police scrambled a helicopter in a bid to track down a man suspected of committing a sex act on a cow.  The suspect was reportedly seen interfering with the farm animal near Denham Way, in Maple Cross, Hertfordshire, on Saturday morning.  No arrests have been made.

Emmanuel Macron, the next president of France is 39 years old.  His wife, and former teacher, is 64.  They have been married since 2007, but the relationship started while he was a 16 year old high school student and she was his 39 year old French teacher.  ( In the US we call that a felony.)  His family openly opposed the relationship. When Macron graduated from high school and returned to Paris, she left her job, husband and 3 children and went with him.  They have been together ever since.

Recent studies in the UK verify that the smell of the herb Rosemary improves working memory in adults and children.  The idea is not new as rosemary has been associated with memory for hundreds of years. Ancient Greek students wore garlands of it during exams.  Now if I could just remember where I put the stuff .......
