West Virginia, A Snap-shoot?

WVa:

• the second highest rate of smoking at 28.2%
• the 3rd highest obesity rates in the US, recently increased from 32.4% to 33.8 percent% of adults,
• the second highest rate of physical inactivity at 31.0 percent of the adult population,
• half the state is not immunized.
• a recent low birth-weight increase of 14% from 8.3 to 9.6% of births.
• the 28th best high school graduation rate, 74% of 9th graders graduate
• 29% of its children living in poverty, half the children of single parents living in poverty
• 54% of its population with high school diplomas or less from an educational system ranked 50th in the country, with a quality rating of D-
• a life expectancy of 75.16, lowest of any state.
• Walmart as the largest private employer in the state
• rank last or next to last in economic surveys, including business climate and potential, work place education, high tech jobs, numbers of engineers
• ranked last on national well being survey,  and  emotional health index.

but take heart, the WVa has one of the lowest national binge drinking rates ------  cause we be drinking all the time.
