Here's a caricature I drew of a friend in
Boot Camp (1971). He also attended my wedding that same year. From Brooklyn; a math major (NYU); very funny man. Our Company Commander liked to use the expression
"zilch point shit" as a way of letting us know the
odds of something good happening to us that particular day, e.g.
"smoke break?" chances are exactly "zilch point shit", etc. As a mathematician this expression opened up an entirely new and somewhat bizarre field of mathematical study.
