Tasteless Xmas Decorations Part 1
I love tasteless Christmas decorations. Here find Santa's underpants courtesy of Tiverton England town council. Absurd.

Please Mr President, LEAD.
I don’t want war, the lose of Americans in some God forsaken desert. But President Obama’s consistent position on ISIS reminds me of President Clinton’s position on Rwanda. Clinton has publicly expressed his regrets for not taking action in Rwanda and the horrible deaths and suffering of millions of innocent people. ISIS has tortured, murdered, enslaved 100,000’s of innocents in the most horrible of ways. They have now brought the terror to the civilized world. Evidence clearly proves their intention and ability to expand such actions through Europe while the FBI announces they have active ISIS investigations in every state in the country. I voted for Obama twice, not because of his promises but purely because his election made an important statement on race. It’s time for him to step up as the de facto leader of the free world. The cost of his failure to do so will be the incredible suffering of huge numbers of more innocents, including Americans..
Those Belgians
In response to a request from the Belgian police asking the population 'not to tweet' any information about police activities during the current crises, 1000's of people began posting 'cat tweets.' Hysterical.

Thanksgiving
The year has turned its circle,
The seasons come and go.
The harvest all is gathered in
And chilly north winds blow.
Orchards have shared their treasures,
The fields, their yellow grain,
So open wide the doorway~
Thanksgiving comes again!

The Realness of Reality TV
I rarely watch reality TV but gave it up entirely after discovering that the stars of 'Alaska, The Last Frontier,' struggling to get enough fish and game to make it through the winter were actually millionaires with a daughter singer/song writer worth 30 mil. There's a great 'hoopieness' to most of them, a blast of reality beyond the intended TV theme. Here are a few 'real' examples. Alaska Bush People face jail time.. Several of the reality TV family members are accused of stealing a total of $20, 938 by lying on applications for Alaska’s annual oil revenue windfall check. Discovery’s “Sons of Guns” was given the axe after their star, Will Hayden, was arrested and charged for raping a minor in August 2014. It’s sister network TLC canceled “19 Kids and Counting” after eldest son Josh Duggar was accused of molesting minors including his sisters, and “Honey Boo Boo” was given the pink slip after June Shannon AKA “Mama June” publicly dated her daughter Anna’s child molester, Mark McDaniel, after he got out of jail. Are we talking ‘hoopie?’
Lorena: civil war song
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5i1s8FKoku8
The song was popular with both sides in the civial war. It is reported that at night the song would begin on one side of the battle line with the other side joining in melodious voice. The love song would stir such homesickness among both sides that come morning the lines of combat would be emptied by soldiers returning home.
This song was subsequently banned among the combatants.

Experiment in the Field
Goal: to get local deer to approach me close enough that they can eat out of my hand.
Subjects: I take my daily walk around a nearby field. The field is surrounded on three sides by a few acres of woodland, and streams.. Deer eat in the field and hang out in the woods. They visit all the neighborhoods nearby at various times but they are not approachable. I have been walking around this field and into the woods for about 3 years now and over that time the deer have become more accustomed to me, though not friendly until lately when one of the older girls often comes within 20 yards of me and very calmly watches me for awhile. Her companions are skittish and don't come close. I have only seen one buck in the area, one time, probably intimidated by my musk.
Method I have for several days been leaving apples in one of the coveys that they often use and nearby where they often feed. I also give several sharp whistles as I approach the place and while laying the apples.
Results after one week: so far: the apples are gone when I inspect the next day. No core or any sign of them. Have no idea if they are taking them or if some other creature is. I figure there is a better than guess likelihood that they are but who knows.

Prescipio
Handcrafted by artisans between 1700 and 1830, the presepio features lifelike figures and colorful details that re-create the Nativity within a vibrant panorama of 18th-century Italian village life. More than 100 superbly modeled human and angelic figures, along with animals, accessories, and architectural elements, cover a 250-square-foot area and create a memorable depiction of the Nativity as seen through the eyes of Neapolitan artisans and collectors.

A bishop is?
Timothy 3:1-7
1* This saying is trustworthy:* whoever aspires to the office of bishop desires a noble task.2Therefore, a bishop must be irreproachable, married only once, temperate, self-controlled, decent, hospitable, able to teach,3not a drunkard, not aggressive, but gentle, not contentious, not a lover of money.b4He must manage his own household well, keeping his children under control with perfect dignity;5for if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how can he take care of the church of God?6He should not be a recent convert, so that he may not become conceited and thus incur the devil’s punishment.*7He must also have a good reputation among outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, the devil’s trap.c

Home uses of Coca Cola
You can add two liters of Coke to well water and you'll have sparkling, clean, drinkable water. Coke cleans grout like a charm as well as removes oil stains from driveways and bug juice from windshields. You never have to buy expensive carpet stain remover again. Coke does the trick. Just pour some Coke on the stain, let it sit and then rub it out. Coke even removes blood stains.
Add a cup of Coke to your laundry to remove tough odors. This even works on tough fish smells. Your laundry will never smell fresher. Loosen a rusty bolt; pour on some Coke and wait for the magic to happen.

More Scandal.
Two new books by Italian journalists draw attention to the continuing financial abuse by members of the Church hierarchy despite Pope Francis efforts to return the Church to its mission to serve the poor. While Francis lives in a small 3 room apartment, a retired Cardinal lives nearby in a $300,000 apartment that the Church renovated for him by a Vatican charity at an additional $300,000. Francis flew to Rome for his appointment economy class. Most bishops and cardinals returning from the Family Synod flew first class, despite the Pope's plea for economy class. I am reminded of the words of two of the most devout I have known. James McManus " its about the message of Christ not about Rome." My grandfather 'say your prayers but do not trust the priests.' Martin Luther made the point centuries ago.

Stranger in My Place
I see the town where we were born
I see the place we were raised
I see all the things you wanted
That I never gave
I see the place we were raised
I see all the things you wanted
That I never gave
I see sadness, I see sorrow
I see pain in your face
But I just can't see
A stranger in my place
I see pain in your face
But I just can't see
A stranger in my place

When The River Meets The Sea
Written by Paul Williams
When the mountain touches the valley
All the clouds are taught to fly
As our souls will leave this land most peacefully
Though our minds be filled with questions
In our hearts we'll understand
When the river meets the sea
Like a flower that has blossomed
In this dry and barren sand
We are born and born again most gracefully
Plus the winds of time will take us
With a sure and steady hand
When the river meets the sea
Patience my brothers
And patience my son
In that sweet and final hour
Truth and justice will be done
Like a baby when it is sleeping
In its mother's loving arms
What a newborn baby dreams is a mystery (a mystery)
But this life will find a purpose
And in time we'll understand
When the river meets the sea
When the river meets the almighty sea
sung by john denver http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2Qm2uPJx-8

Wil E Coyote - Not quite - Its the newly developed Eastern Coyote or CoyWolf!
Coywolf - Eastern Coyote |
The original Coyote disappeared from the Eastern US many years ago. For a long time they were only in the Western US - none in the East, until recently. Now they are everywhere. They are called Eastern Coyote but they are Half Wolf. Thus the Coywolf.
They mated, coyotes and wolves and created a new kind of canine; one that lives almost anywhere (cities included);are larger than pure Coyotes; are starting to hunt in packs like wolves do; and are cleverly adept in their comings and goings - they check both ways before crossing streets and roads (No Shit?, you say - yes they do). They tend to stay hidden by living along and roaming railroad tracks which are often secluded, and are in every town and burg in the Country.
The one I saw in the town of Ashland, Ky (pop 36,000) checked both ways, crossed the road in heavy traffic, and was headed to the secluded Railway behind the Mall. JP has known them to hunt in pairs in his neck of the woods/town; cleverly taking down deer.

Chrysanthemum

Autumn clusters surround my house just like Tao Yuanming's.
I walk full circle round the fence as the sun slowly tilts.
It's not that I love chrysanthemums more than other flowers,
but that no others will blossom after these bloom.
