Jérôme Jean Louis Marie Lejeune (13 June 1926 – 3 April 1994) was a French pediatrician During his visit to Paris for World Youth Day 1997, John Paul II visited Lejeune's grave in Châlo-Saint-Mars.
Jerrome discovered the xrta chromosome which causes Down Syndrome. He was outspoken against prenatal testing for the purpose of abortion arguing the patient is killed in defense of the disease.
