The Irish, who else, have introduced a new Christmas tradition, the 12 Pubs of Christmas. Groups of young people dressed in 'Christmas sweaters' agree to have one drink in 12 pups in a single night in the days just before Christmas. The route is carefully selected before hand and is often accompanied by rules, like drinking only with the left hand in one pub, speaking only Irish in another. Unofficial reports suggest few people actual make it through all 12.
