The Mysterious Purple Sock.

Sixty years ago scientists discovered an unusual creature living at the very depths of the ocean. The Xenoturbella, commonly called the ‘purple sock’ defied classification.  The ocean oddity has no eyes, no brain, no teeth, and no gut, just a small gaping mouth from which food goes in - and then waste comes out.  Science has no idea how it eats and its DNA changes according to what it has just eaten.  The creature is probably an early life form and sits near the base of the family tree, he added.
