Hollywood trash talk:  does anyone get a sense of something awry with George Clooney's wedding?  He's an actor but doesn't give off "love" vibes like you'd think.

• 54% of its population with high school diplomas or less from an educational system ranked 50th in the country, with a quality rating of D-

• Walmart as the largest private employer in the state
• rank last or next to last in economic surveys, including business climate and potential, work place education, high tech jobs, numbers of engineers
• ranked last on national well being survey,  and  emotional health index.

but take heart, the WVa has one of the lowest national binge drinking rates ------  cause we be drinking all the time.

Another Irish Clergy Abuse.

My grandfather, the most important man in my childhood, was a devout Catholic, but cautioned me at 5 about the clergy.  They were not to be trusted, respected yes, but not trusted.  And here's another reason.  For years  Irish nuns ran commercial laundries staffed by children entrusted to their 'care.' Clients included hotels, the airports, and commercial establishments. Records show children were held in slave labor conditions for an average of 8 years, many longer.  The Irish government is about to pay millions in compensation. Grandad was right, and its tuff to be a Catholic in light of the every increasing revelations of clergy abuse.

Carla Laemmle

Carla Laemmle, a dancer and actress whose screen career began in the silent era and ended with new found celebrity in the Internet age, died on June 12 at her home in Los Angeles. She was 104.

Who Knew?

A team of researchers at Ohio State and France who found that people think they are more attractive when drinking alcohol, have scooped an Ig Nobel prize for their work at ceremonies held at Harvard.  The Ig Nobel awards are a humorous spoof-like version of their more sober cousins, the Nobel prizes.  The same effect was also found for those who only thought they had been drinking alcohol when in fact it was a non-alcoholic placebo drink. Been there, done that.

The Federal Reserve is a very powerful institution affecting the economy of the country (and unofficially affecting governmental policy, laws, alliances, and activities), including the setting of interest rates, the lending of money to the US Gov't, and the issuing of money.  The Federal Reserve is a Privately owned institution and not operated nor controlled by the US Gov't.  The US Government operates with funds borrowed from the Federal Reserve, at interest.  It is controlled by very wealthy and powerful bankers.  In June 1963 JFK issued an executive order (11110) that ended the Federal Reserve's relationship with the US Gov't.  The US Treasury would take over these functions.*  Before the Executive Order took effect Kennedy was assassinated.  The Executive Order was never implemented.

More on Clostridium novyi NT

 Many different bacterial species have been studied as either a vector to deliver the tumoricidal medicine into the tumor or as live genetically modified bacteria designed to replicate inside the tumor and kill it. Although many of the different approaches have proven successful and look very promising, they still need to be investigated slightly more before they can be applied conventionally. 
The bacteria eats the tumor from inside out!

And That's A Fine Looking Lad

The Scottish kilt first appeared near the end of the 1500’s and may be older. The first, called the great kilt was a full length garment of a single fabric whose upper half could be worn draped over the shoulder, or brought up over head as a cloak.  The modern kilt, basically the bottom half of the great kilt, developed in the late 1600’s and is commonly worn as formal wear in Scotland today.   The word derives from the Norse for a similar garment worn in Scandinavia.  The kilt has become a sign of Celtic identity and pride. Adopted by Irish Nationalists in the early 1900 (arguments that the Irish wore them earlier are unsubstantiated)  the practice has spread to other Celtic countries including Cornwall, Walls and Britney.

novyi Nt bacteria

Bacteria found in soil called Clostridium novyi (C. novyi) is known to cause tissue-damaging infections. Researchers from John Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center have developed a modified version that triggers an anti-tumor response in rats, dogs and humans. The breakthrough could complement existing methods to provide better targeted treatment of cancerous growths.

jpr: My guide for buy/sell stocks. Find a link that gives stock volume & stock price that updates in real time.Volume peaks can drive the  stock $$ up or down. If there are more spikes up over time  then over stock $$ is up and vice versa for  stock  prices  falling. When the number of spikes up equal (ruffly) the number of spikes down the stock price is stable as is the case for the bottom of a dip or  top of a run up in $$ value.I buy/sell appropriately on the stable price. Its not the only guide but it is a sound guide.
