ZHITTY FAKE ROTHKO SELLS FOR 8.3 MILLION DOLLARS
Domenico De Sole took the stand in U.S. District Court in Manhattan recently, testifying in front of the fake Rothko that he purchased at the Knoedler Gallery in 2004 for $8.3 million. De Sole, along with his wife, is suing Knoedler, its former president Ann Freedman, and the gallery’s holding company 8-31 for $25 million in damages.
