This is a rare model George Steck Duo-Art Reproducing Player Grand Piano. George Steck was one of America's older and more renoun piano builders, and the firm was known to build very high-quality, expensive pianos.

Found one in local parish rectory exactly like above. Couldn't 't give the thing away until a little internet search turned up the true worth!

Eight orphaned hedgehogs have survived against the odds at a zoo in the Russian city of Vladivostok, after a kindly cat became their surrogate mum.  Muska the cat adopted the spiky brood after their mother died in a lawn-mowing accident.  The tiny hoglets, as they are known, had refused milk from a syringe, a bottle, and a saucer for two days.  As Muska had recently raised a litter of foster kittens, she had milk to offer - so the zoo decided to try the unusual pairing. The hungry orphans reacted to her bodily warmth and the smell of milk, and soon began to nurse.

Stranger than......

Local media reported that a 41-year-old man named Syarifuddin was bathing in a river in Berau,1,500 km north-east of Jakarta - when a two-meter long crocodile snatched him and took him into the river.  A friend at the scene  reported the accident to local police, but Syarifuddin's body could not be found. The next morning, local villagers asked for help from a "crocodile charmer".   After the charmer preformed a ritual, a crocodile appeared with the intact dead body in its mouth, leaving it near the riverbank.

Hundreds of German choir boys abused over six decades - another church failing

At least 547 young members of the famous Regensburger Domspatzen boys choir in Germany were subjected to physical and in some instances sexual abuse over a period of 60 years, a new government report says.  The report accuses 49 members of the Catholic Church of carrying out the abuse between 1945 and the early 1990s.  Among those singled out for criticism in the report was former choirmaster Georg Ratzinger, elder brother of retired Pope Benedict XVI, who directed the choir for more than 30 years.

Surgeons were "shocked" to find 27 contact lenses in a woman's eye before performing an eye operation.   The 67-year-old was scheduled for cataract surgery when the operating team discovered a "blueish mass" of 17 disposablw contact lenses in her eye.   The team found a further 10 individual lenses on further inspection.

Happy Birthday

Olivia DeHavlland turned 101 years today.  You may recall her performance in 'Gone with the Wind'  (1939)  or my personal favorite, 'Robin Hood' (1938) with Errol Flynn.  Clearly the last of the great ones.  Here younger sister, Joan Fontaine,  was a successful actress as well.  Both won Academy awards.
