SAINT MAURICE
THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A FAMOUS PAINTING BY THE ARTIST MATTHIAS GRUNEWALD EXECUTED DURING THE YEARS 1517-1523. IT DEPICTS THE MEETING OF SAINT ERASMUS OF FORMIAE AND THE MOOR KNOWN AS "SAINT MAURICE", ONE OF THE GREATEST PATRON-SAINTS OF MEDIEVAL EUROPE. IT IS A TESTAMENT TO THE HONOR AND RESPECT SHARED BETWEEN THE EUROPEANS AND THE MOORS IN 16TH CENTURY EUROPE.
