gabriel gargam of lourdes

In 1899, he was injured in a train accident. Just 30 years old, he was paralyzed and could not eat solid food. Two years later the man weighed just 78 lbs, both legs were atrophied with both feet gangrenous. He was attended by two nurses day and night.

His aunt (a nun) convinced him to visit Lourdes. Although he had not been to church for fifteen  years, the man experienced both a spiritual and physical healing in the presence of the Eucharist at Lourdes.  He began to walk at once. He was subsequently examined by 60 prominent physicians, all proclaimed him cured.

Today is feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes!

The man is famous at Lourdes since he spent the next 50 years attending the sick there.
