An age-old contest dating to Roman times takes place ever Easter Monday between the villages Hallaton and Medbourne, the Hallaton Bottle Kicking game. Teams try and move one gallon barrels of beer across two streams while the other team resists. No rules and violence is common. The game is a forerunner of rugby. I wonder if anyone in these stupid ass games has a job.
