great blue heron


One of these guys works the creek of my favorite trial. She is extremely shy, always sees me first then immediately flies off.

    I used to go fishing under the bridge at Cross Creek and nearly fainted the first time I saw a Blue Heron in full wingspread glide above the air above me.
