The Book of Pontiffs declares there have been three black popes:
Pope St. Victor I ......186-197 A.D. as the 15th Pope.
Pope St. Militiades....311-314 A.D. as the 32nd or 37th Pope
Pope Saint Gelasius I.....492 until his death in 496, as the 49th Pope
