The thoughts and creations of J P Ronan are shared in order to perk, uplift, make better this day. All entertainment is intentional and no issue should be taken as serious else you have come to the wrong place.
My favorite Sherlock portray-er. some might prefer Basil the Rathbone but Jeremy, by adding a tangible element of "human vulnerability" to the character, became for me the consummate Sherlock.
ReplyDeletehell, i might as well rate some more dudes. Robert Downey - no way; too american, too commercial, and too obviously full of himself. Benedict Cumberbatch -a great performer and very good at Sherlock but the show was unable to "seep him into the proper Sherlock ambiance". There are numerous others and I'd like to hear from anyone with an opinion.
ReplyDeletePeter Cushing did a good job for a TV sherlock in the 60's. Believe it not Larry Hagman, Leonard Nimoy, and John Cleese all had a go at it. Some more serious players include Nicol Williamson, Michael Caine, Christopher Lee, and Sir John Gielgud. The list goes on and on.
ReplyDeleteWonder who a real sleuth would prefer?
