Before a bird will fly across a large body of water like an ocean's inlet up in Canada, they perch for a spell at the water's edge. They'll use that perch regularly. Bald eagle up in Strait of Georgia often sat near our fishing camp. One day he arrived carrying big ole black snake home for dinner.
