Every year, 20 million tonnes of food goes to waste in the UK. . A large chunk of this waste comes from restaurants and supermarkets who have to throw away perfectly fine food due to regulations. The Beggars Banquet, an evening of fine dining with food salvaged from shops and restaurants who would otherwise have thrown it away is held annually by chefs of East London.
The theme of the evening is ‘Tramp Chic’ ( dress to unimpress!) Tickets are just £20 for five courses, and proceeds go to charity
jpr: been to many of these at home as a child.
