How Irish Traditionally Name Their Children

1st son was named after the father's father.
2nd son was named after the mother's father.
3rd son was named after the father.
4th son was named after the father's eldest brother.
5th son was named after the mother's eldest brother.

1st daughter was named after the mother's mother.
2nd daughter was named after the father's mother.
3rd daughter was named after the mother.
4th daughter was named after the mother's eldest sister.
5th daughter was named after the father's eldest sister.

  1. And the tenth son was named how...after the Father that baptized him...or the first street sign you come across after leaving the hospital...which if its the corner of Cuckoo St and Mary's lane, you might think about naming the young chap "Buddy".

  3. Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I
    found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She
    placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
    She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic
    but I had to tell someone!
