built in Oahu by military during WWII, the Haʻikū Stairs are now part of a hiking trail.
jpr: Lived there for several years in mid 70s...never new the thing existed. I was warned that the steep hillsides in Hawaii are prone to landslides due to thin loose soil atop lava rock!
