Fr Thomas Aquinas and the prostitute

A prostitute was given entrance into the saint's cell by others in his friary to give him temptation. He recounts chasing  the woman away with an ember from the fire, marking the door with a cross in soot and kneeling in prayer to preserve his chasity. Two angels appeared and wrapped his waist in a chord of purity and he was never tempted by lust again.
