John Wayne and his nurse

The movie star died on June 11, 1979. A catholic sister was one of his attending nurses. John told the nun he was going to die and the sister responded she would pray for his soul after his death. John was not a catholic and found this practice comforting. Just before his passing he asked to speak with the sister to learn more about being catholic. He was converted to Catholicism on his death bed.

His Peruvian wife and their children were all catholic.
