Money Trees!!!

in several wooded areas (in Cumbria and Portmeirion)  around the UK, people have been stopping for at least several decades if not longer to hammer coins into trees.  The practice may date back to the 1700's when in Scotland ill people stuck coins into trees in hopes of taking away their sickness.  A similar practice in the US puts a different spin on it - people who are looking for a cure for their chronic penury and discontentment put coins into mechanical traps in and around Las Vegas.

  1. Don't forget the Las Vegas practice of getting "hammered".
