foxes are feral creatures. even if raised from a kit they will still be basically wild, with all the behaviors of such. however a few years ago in Scandinavia (can't remember the precise country) a team of animal behaviorists bred domesticated foxes, which were as attentive, affectionate, and tame as the family dog. it took them only 3 or 4 generations, selectively breeding the foxes which seemed "tamer" until they came up with a pet.
i think it was Finland but I'm not sure.
