Every Christmas Eve, hundreds of people from all over the world crowd a chapel in Oberndorf, Austria, to sing Silent Night, where the song was first sung. This year marks its 200th anniversary. It has become a cultural phenomenon, translated into more than 300 languages. In 2011 it was added to the Unesco Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Our Mom taught it to us more than 60 years ago.
